Riyadh : The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has advanced to 14th place globally and first in the Arab world in the 2024 Global AI Index, published by Tortoise Intelligence, marking a 17-rank improvement out of 83 countries.
The Kingdom’s leadership in the Government Strategy sub-pillar has reinforced its standing as a global AI leader. Additionally, its seventh place ranking in the Commercial Ecosystem sub-pillar highlights Saudi Arabia’s investment in AI technologies and the development of a strong AI ecosystem.
The Global AI Index evaluates 83 countries using 122 indicators divided into three key pillars: Implementation, Innovation, and Investment, which are further categorised into seven sub-pillars, including Talent, Infrastructure, and Government Strategy.
This progress reflects the support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). Under his leadership, SDAIA has driven national AI initiatives, strengthened capabilities, and fostered innovation, positioning the Kingdom as a prominent data-driven economy.
