Sultan Qaboos bin Zayed has ordered the release of 272 prisoners in Oman’s prisons. The order comes in the context of the country celebrating Renaissance Day. Those who have been convicted in various cases have the benefit of a pardon issued by the ruler. The Royal Oman Police said in a statement that 88 of those freed were in exile. On July 23 this year, the country celebrates its 49th Renaissance Day.
