Bahrain : Held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and supported by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser Al Khalifa graced the inaugural Victorious Women’s Forum hosted by the Bahrain Victorious 13 team at the Gulf Hotel on Thursday.

The Victorious Women’s Forum is part of Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain race week and it’s an extension of the Kingdom’s celebrations of the Bahraini Women’s Day. The event aimed at celebrating the continued advancement of women in sports.

Bahrain Victorious 13 team’s athletes such as three-time Ironman 70.3 Bahrain champion Holly Lawrence, Olympic gold and silver medallist Georgia Taylor-Brown, and Olympic mixed relay bronze medallist Cassandre Beaugrand joined the forum to share their insights about women succeeding and helping make a change in sport.

“It was amazing to see such a great turnout of women this morning, supporting each other across a diverse range of sports, businesses and communities,” said Lawrence. “I’ve been coming to Bahrain for the past five years and this event was empowering. I’ll use it as added motivation tomorrow while I’m racing.”

It’s worth noting that 50 people attended the exclusive event which underlined the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dedication to developing the sports community and growing women’s participation.
