Manama : Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, announced that the ministry is testing a remote visual notarisation system in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA). The initiative aligns with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, expanding the private sector’s role while the ministry oversees licensed private notaries.
Al Maawda said that private notaries will receive training from the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, with access requiring electronic key authentication. The minister urged users to register for government notifications via bahrain.bh, as registered details will be used for service access.
Al Maawda reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to digital transformation, introducing the service gradually for specific transactions through a blockchain powered platform ensuring confidentiality, authenticity, and fraud prevention, including digital signature verification.
Currently, 127 private notaries are licensed for Arabic notarisation, and 13 for English notarisation.
