Manama : The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has been awarded with the “Smart City Initiative Award 2025” at the Bahrain Smart cities summit for its MyGov mobile app. This came during the opening ceremony of the 8th edition of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025, held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, from April 15-16, under the theme: “Building the Future: Smart Cities, Sustainable Growth”.

expressed his pride and honor at the recognition ofMyGov Mobile application and thanked the organisers of the summit and award.
He emphasised that this accomplishment clearly reflects the strong support and attention given by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, towards digital transformation efforts and the adoption of modern technologies. These efforts have significantly contributed to advancing development, enhancing innovation, and fostering creativity within government work.
The Chief Executive noted that the MyGov application, launched by the Authority in the first quarter of 2025 under the directives of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stands as one of the most prominent strategic digital initiatives implemented in response to public suggestions submitted to the Authority.
He highlighted the significance of the application, which offers users a unified access experience to a wide range of government services through the enhanced eKey 2.0 system. He also acknowledged the ongoing support of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.
He emphasised that receiving this award will further motivate the iGA team to continue their dedication and efforts towards delivering high-quality services.
As part of the event, Lulwa Sami, Director of Communications & Marketing at the iGA, participated in a panel discussion titled “Smart City Hot Seat: Live Expert Panel on Urban Innovation.” During the session, Mrs. Lulwa showcased the Authority’s digital projects that have contributed to urban innovation, including the National Portal (bahrain.bh) and mobile apps such as Sehati app and MyGov app. She also highlighted the use of open data to drive the development of more tailored eServices that meet public needs.
Lulwa Sami underscored the (iGA) commitment to strategic and interactive communication, as well as continuous engagement with the public is important and by utilising diverse channels, such as the Tawasul system is a two-way communication, to better understand public feedback and opinions.
In parallel to the summit, the Information & eGovernment Authority iGA is also part of at the Smart Cities 2025 exhibition,showcasing its latest services and applications, including the MyGov app, eKey 2.0, new features on bahrain.bh, and new services launched through the Benayat system inviting the public to visit.
