His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today held official talks with His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended.
HM King Hamad welcomed HH the Amir of Kuwait, expressing the kingdom’s pride in this visit which reflects the longstanding fraternal Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations.
HH Sheikh Mishal expressed his appreciation to HM the King for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation.
HH Sheikh Mishal expressed congratulations to HM the King on the anniversary of the National Action Charter, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity, under HM’s leadership.
HM King Hamad and HH Sheikh Mishal discussed bilateral relations, stressing keenness to further bolster joint cooperation in various sectors t serve the interests of the two countries and their peoples.
HM King Hamad emphasised that the exemplary Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations are based on solid foundations of fraternity, understanding and joint coordination.
HM King Hamad hailed Kuwait’s efforts in supporting the continued development of Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations under varying circumstances, praising Kuwait’s honourable stances towards Bahrain and its people.
HM the King expressed pride in HH the Kuwaiti Amir’s efforts to strengthen his country’s ties with Bahrain, praising Kuwait’s honourable stances in support of Bahrain and its people under various circumstances.
HM King Hamad commended Kuwait’s distinguished achievements and efforts at various levels, hailing its prestigious position regionally and internationally, historical role in backing joint GCC, Arab, and Islamic action, as well as its endeavours to promote humanitarian efforts.
The two leaders discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, as well as the latest regional and international developments and their implications on global peace and security.
HM King Hamad and HH Sheikh Mishal also discussed regional developments and their implications on intra-Arab relations, as well as on regional security and stability.
They also stressed the need for respecting countries’ sovereignty. In this regard, they affirmed the importance of Iraq’s respect for Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as commitment to bilateral and international pledges and agreements, in addition to all the relevant UN resolutions.
HM the King conferred the Order of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa- Exceptional Class Collar, on HH Shaikh Mishal, in appreciation of HH’s efforts in bolstering bilateral relations.
HM the King also presented HH Sheikh Mishal with a Bahraini sword on this occasion.
Bahraini poet Mohammed Hadi Al Halwachi recited a poem before HM the King and HH the Amir of Kuwait.
HH Sheikh Mishal expressed Kuwait’s pride in its historical relations with Bahrain, praising the honourable stances of the Kingdom, led by HM the King.
HH the Amir of Kuwait hailed Bahrain’s development strides, wide-ranging achievements and distinguished globval status.
His Majesty the King hosted a luncheon in honour of HH the Amir of Kuwait.
