Manama : His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the closing ceremony of the Gulf Basketball Association (GBA) U21 3×3 Championship, which the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted with strong regional participation.
The event was held in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Basketball Association; Abdul Latif Al Fardan, Vice President of the UAE Basketball Association; Dhari Burgess, President of the Kuwait Basketball Federation; and Saadoun Al Kuwari, Secretary General of the Gulf Basketball Association.
Bahrain’s teams achieved notable results in both categories. The women’s team won the championship title, followed by Qatar in second place and Oman in third.
In the men’s competition, Bahrain B finished first, Qatar placed second, and Bahrain A came third, reflecting a strong overall performance by the national delegation.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali crowned the top three teams in both competitions and commended the standard of play shown by the participating Gulf teams. His Highness said the championship provided an important platform for promoting 3×3 basketball in the region, developing young players, and consolidating Gulf sports cooperation.
His Highness also expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s successful organisation of the event, noting that the arrangements reflected the Kingdom’s ability to host regional and international sporting competitions. He acknowledged the efforts of the Bahrain Basketball Association and all working committees in delivering the championship to a high organisational standard.
