Riyadh : Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, participated in the 7th edition of the Global Health Forum 2024, under the theme “Invest in Health.”
The event, held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Saudi Arabia from October 21 to 23, was attended by government officials, healthcare professionals, and representatives of local and international medical companies to exchange expertise and showcase best practices, innovations, and modern medical technologies.
In her address, the Minister emphasised the importance of events like the forum in supporting efforts to modernise healthcare systems in the Gulf and globally. She highlighted the need to adopt advanced healthcare transformation programmes to improve efficiency and encourage investment.
The minister said that healthcare is key to achieving universal coverage and health-related Sustainable Development Goals, calling for regional cooperation and innovation. The Minister referenced His Majesty King Hamad’s healthcare initiative at the 33rd Arab Summit, aimed at regional collaboration to improve healthcare access, especially for conflict-affected populations, by strengthening infrastructure and pharmaceutical industries.
The minister also noted the development of healthcare quality through preventive measures, such as vaccination, and highlighted Bahrain’s initiatives, including telemedicine and mobile health services, which are transforming healthcare with modern technology.
