Manama : The Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in Sports Committee held a coordination meeting with the Bahrain Handball Federation to discuss means to develop the game of handball and to enhance women’s sports participation in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Bahrain Handball Federation, discussed the current state of the game and reviewed the main challenges and obstacles facing its development. It also presented proposals and practical solutions to raise the technical and organisational level of women’s competitions and to broaden participation at various levels.
The discussions underscored the importance of joint cooperation between the relevant entities to ensure a motivating and safe sporting environment that supports the empowerment of Bahraini women in the sports field.
Participating in the meeting from the Equal Opportunities Committee were Salama Mohammed Atiq and Wafa Ibrahim Al Jazzaf, while from the Bahrain Handball Federation Zahra Qaed, Member of the Board of Directors, took part.
The Equal Opportunities Committee reiterated its commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving gender balance in the sports field, emphasising the importance of continued cooperation with national sports federations to implement related plans and initiatives.
