Manam : Bharathi Association in coordination with Starvision Events to Host Grand Diwali Celebration at Golden Eagle Club (previously known as Gulf Air Club). On 17th October
Durinng the press meet President Vallam Basheer presided the meeting and welcomed the Media Personals, General Secretary Abdul Qaiyum briefed details about the Diwali celebrations.
Vallam Basheer (President), Abdul Qaiyum (Gen.Secretry), Event Coordinators Muthuvel Murugan and Babu sundarraj, Treasurer Sheik Mansoor, Asst Gen Secretary Subramanian Subash, Literary Secretary Elaiya Raja, Memberhip Secretary Sabeek Meeran, Asst Treasurer Younus Abdul Samad along with Star Vision Events Chairman Sethuraj were present at the press conference .
Diwali, the globally celebrated Festival of Lights that signifies the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness, will be marked in grand fashion by the Bharathi Association this year.
To bring together Indian families and the wider community in festive spirit, the Association has announced a Diwali Gala Celebration .

A key highlight of the evening will be a Pattimandram, a traditional Tamil debate format known for its blend of intellect, humor, and cultural richness. The lively session will be moderated by Dindigul Leoni, a celebrated Tamil orator and humorist widely admired across the Tamil-speaking diaspora for his wit, irony, and tongue-in-cheek commentary.
The debate will explore the topic of “Tamil Cinema: Are Old Films Superior to New Films?” with two teams presenting opposing viewpoints in eloquent literary Tamil. Kavingar Iniyavan will lead the team advocating for new films, joined by Shahul Haja and Shobana Siva, while Professor Dr. Vijayakumar will head the team favoring new films, supported by Bhavani Premanand and Ponsankara Pandian. Both lead speakers are distinguished orators who have earned global recognition for their eloquence and stage presence.
The Pattimandram promises three hours of engaging debate, sharp humor, and lighthearted entertainment that will leave the audience in fits of laughter.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event will open with a vibrant traditional dance performance choreographed by Nrityakalaratna Hansul Gani, featuring talented children of the Association’s members. The performance will showcase the richness of Tamil culture and set the tone for an evening of unity, joy, and cultural pride.
Through this celebration, the Bharathi Association continues to uphold its mission of promoting Indian culture, fostering community bonds, and providing a platform for cultural exchange in Bahrain.
