Amman : Bahrain has won the bid to host the 17th edition of the Arab Games in 2031, while Jordan will organise the 18th edition in 2035.
The announcement was made during the 22nd General Assembly meeting of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, held in Jordan and chaired by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, President of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees.

Bahrain’s delegation to the meeting included Fajer Jassim, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and Director of Arab and International Relations and Olympic Solidarity, and Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, Executive Director of Operations.
The meeting reviewed reports on the 15th Arab Games held in Algeria in 2023 and the Arab Women’s Club Sports Games, held in Sharjah from February 2 to 12, 2024.

The assembly also approved the 2023 annual report of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, endorsed the financial statements and independent auditor’s report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023, and agreed to contract Pure Consulting to prepare the Union’s strategy.
