Bahrain has reported its fifth-highest daily cases since the start of the outbreak, after reporting 414 new cases of coronavirus cases among 258 expatriate workers and 136 contacts of active cases and 20 are travel-related.
With today’s cases, the country surpassed 13,000 confirmed cases.
1 death was reported in the kingdom, bringing the fatalities toll to 21.
The newly registered cases bring the total cases to 13,229 of which 7,728 have recovered making over 57 percent of the confirmed cases to recover from the virus. Currently, there are 5,480 active cases.
There are currently 53 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 9 are in a critical condition.
So far the country has conducted 345,337 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.
An increase in coronavirus cases among the Bahrainis was noticed by the MOH in recent days.
“The reasons for the increase in the number of cases among the citizens are due to family and social gatherings during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” said Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in a press conference.
