Bahrain has reported 314 new cases of coronavirus, among 169 expatriate workers and 136 contacts of active cases and 9 are travel-related.
The death toll stands at 28, as one new death was reported in the kingdom.
Meanwhile, 280 additional recoveries from COVID-19 were reported.
The newly registered cases bring the total cases to 15,731 of which 10,606 have recovered making over 67 percent of the confirmed cases to recover from the virus. Currently, there are 5,097 active cases.
Also, the are 68 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 13 are in a critical condition.
So far the country has conducted 378,235 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.
An increase in coronavirus cases among the Bahrainis was noticed by the MOH in recent days.
“The reasons for the increase in the number of cases among the citizens are due to family and social gatherings during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” said Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in a press conference.
