Bahrain has reported its second-highest daily cases, after reporting 241 new cases of coronavirus cases among 176 expatriate workers and 55 contacts of active cases and 10 are travel-related, taking today’s cases to 504.
By today’s cases, the country surpassed 12,500 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, no additional recoveries from COVID-19 were reported, keeping today’s recoveries to 3. It is the lowest recoveries in the past 1 month.
The newly registered cases bring the total cases to 12,815 of which 7,410 have recovered making over 58 percent of the confirmed cases to recover from the virus. Currently, there are 5,385 active cases.
There are currently 48 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 10 are in a critical condition.
1 death was reported in the kingdom, bringing the fatalities toll to 20.
So far the country has conducted 337,773 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.
An increase in coronavirus cases among the Bahrainis was noticed by the MOH in recent days.
“The reasons for the increase in the number of cases among the citizens are due to family and social gatherings during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” said Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in a press conference.
