Bahrain has reported its second-highest daily cases, after reporting 102 new cases of coronavirus among 51 expatriate workers and 40 contacts of active cases and 11 are travel-related, taking today’s cases to 539.
By today’s cases, the country surpassed 13,500 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, 114 additional recoveries from COVID-19 were reported, bringing today’s recoveries to 857. It is the highest recoveries on a daily basis.
The newly registered cases bring the total cases to 13,835 of which 8,585 have recovered making over 62 percent of the confirmed cases to recover from the virus. Currently, there are 5,228 active cases.
Also, there are 55 COVID-19 cases currently receiving treatment, of which 12 are in a critical condition.
1 death was reported in the kingdom, bringing the fatalities toll to 22.
So far the country has conducted 354,122 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.
An increase in coronavirus cases among the Bahrainis was noticed by the MOH in recent days.
“The reasons for the increase in the number of cases among the citizens are due to family and social gatherings during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr,” said Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in a press conference.
