China : The World Health Organisation has urged China to share real-time data about a surge in Covid-19 cases so other countries can respond accordingly. Covid-19 infections have risen across China this month after Beijing dismantled its zero-Covid policies, including regular PCR testing of its population. The surge has triggered concern around the world and questions about Beijing’s data reporting, with low official figures on cases and deaths despite some hospitals and morgues being overwhelmed. The US, South Korea, India, Italy, Japan and Taiwan have all imposed testing for travellers from China in response.

Manama : Industry and Commerce Minister Abdullah bin Adel Fakhroo received Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava. The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and topics of common interests. The minister pointed out to Bahrain’s attractive investment environment and the privileges and facilities provided to investors inside and outside the country. Manama : Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi affirmed that the ministry offered 3 lands for the implementation of 771 housing units and apartments within the government land development rights program in partnership with the private sector for the bidding system in the government land investment platform. Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted inspection campaigns in the Northern and Southern Governorates, in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), and the Governorates’ respective Police Directorates. The campaigns resulted in reporting several violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws. The reported cases were referred for legal action. LMRA stressed its commitment to report violations through an intensive inspection plan, in coordination with the relevant government entities.
