Saudi Arabia : Algerian security forces arrested a person suspected of threatening to bomb Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Algiers. Saudi Arabia’s embassy said it had received a phone call on Wednesday evening from a person who directly threatened to blow up its headquarters. The embassy then notified Algerian authorities who were able to identify and arrest the suspect.
Turkey : Two men and a 14-year-old boy were rescued after 10 days beneath the rubble in Turkey, the country’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca tweeted. The teenager Osman was pulled out at the “260th hour after intense efforts”, Mr Koca wrote, posting a photo of the boy with his eyes open on a stretcher wearing what appeared to be an oxygen mask and surrounded by medical crew.
Turkey : An unusually quiet parakeet’s tweets startled a Turkish family awake in time to flee their home minutes before the ground began to shake in Pazarcik, epicentre of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck southern Turkey before dawn on February 6. “Half an hour before the earthquake, it made a strange noise at night, when the light was not on. Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today issued Decree No. (21) of 2023 appointing an assistant undersecretary in the Ministry of Health, based on the proposal of the Minister of Health, and after the approval of the Cabinet, in which it says: Article 1: Dr. Ijlal Faisal Ali Al-Alawi is appointed as Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health. Washington : Doctors declared U.S. President Joe Biden, 80, healthy and “fit for duty”, reports Reuters. “The president remains fit for duty, and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations,” White House physician Kevin O’Connor said in a summary of the health exam.
