Bahrain has announced 26 new recoveries from COVID-19 and registered 44 new active cases of which 32 are expatriate workers and 10 are contacts of active cases and 2 are travel-related. Bahrain tested a total of 113436 until now. There are 1439 active cases. These include 1437 stable cases and 2 critical cases. 1186 people have been discharged. Only 8 deaths have been reported until now. This takes the total cases in Bahrain to 2633. Russia reported 6,361 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, pushing its national tally to 80,949. 66 people succumbed to the virus in the past day, bringing the death toll to 747, Russia’s official crisis response center said.

An additional 5 charter flights will bring home more than 1,250 British travellers to the UK from Bangladesh. This brings the total number of special charter flights organised by the UK Government from Bangladesh to nine. About 21 more special flights will set off from May 1 to 10 to repatriate stranded Pakistanis in UAE. 15 of the flights will be operated by the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) while 6 other flights will be operated by the UAE based airlines. Kuwait has operated 57 flights over the last week to repatriate citizens stranded overseas amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Kuwait News Agency reported. Kuwait’s Health Minister Dr. Basel AI-Sabah announced the recovery of 150 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 806, KUNA reported. The minister said analysis and medical examinations and tests proved that these cases were cured of the virus. The recovered will be transferred to the hospital recuperation ward, pending their discharge during the next two days, he said.
