The Omani MOH has announced 292 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the total cases in the sultanate to 5,671. Most of the newly admitted cases are from non-Omanis, which is 173 and the rest 119 from Omanis, according to the Ministry of Health. Oman has announced the death of a 46-year-old resident with coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the total death toll in the Sultanate to 23, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH). The Dubai Police have arrested a young man over a video that he posted on social media in which he can be seen insulting the UAE’s national currency, according to Gulf News. In the viral video, the suspect can be seen as pretend-sneezing and using a currency note to clean himself. He has been referred to the authority concerned for further action, the police said. The Ministry of Health’s Department of Blood Banks Services at the Directorate General of Specialized Medical Care renewed its appeal to those recovering from COVID-19 to donate immune plasma after it was proven to be effective as a supportive treatment for some cases, in addition to increasing demand for the blood plasma due to the increase in the number of patients in hospitals. India extended its lockdown on Sunday to curb the spread of coronavirus to May 31, as cases exceeded 90,000 and further clashes erupted between police and stranded migrants.
