The Oman Ministry of Health announced 298 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, in which 89 of the new cases are Omanis and the other 209 are in non-Omanis, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 4,019. So far, 17 people have died of the virus and 1,289 others have recovered in the country. The government has since imposed strict measures to prevent the virus from spreading further. Employers in the UAE should pay salaries on time through the wage protection system, the Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation (MoHRE) has stressed. Making the announcement in a tweet, MoHRE called on companies to also document early leaves granted to employees as well as temporary or permanent salary amendments. 31 members of the same family have been infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) due to the negligence of health guidelines, according to the Ministry of Health. The Ministry noted that some of the members of the Bahraini family had not complied with the precautionary measures and social distancing guidelines issued, even after experiencing symptoms, resulting in the transmission of the virus to a total of 31 individuals. Saudi Arabia will introduce a full day lockdown and curfew across the Kingdom during the upcoming Eid holidays from May 23 until May 27, according to the Kingdom’s Interior Ministry.
