San Juan : Hurricane Erin weakened to a Category 3 hurricane on Sunday, its outer bands lashing the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, as forecasters warned of a growing risk of life-threatening surf and rip currents along the US Eastern seaboard during the week from what is expected to become a very large hurricane. Cairo : Bahrain’s under-16 basketball team won the 22nd Arab U16 Championship after defeating Algeria 81–63 in the final in Cairo. It is the first Arab title in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s basketball history, highlighting the sport’s growth and strong youth talent. The team had earlier beaten Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Kuwait and hosts Egypt on their way to the final. Manama :  The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,112 inspection campaigns and visits, during the period of 10 to 16 August 2025, which resulted in the detention of 6 violating and irregular workers, while 103 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring a number of violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.
