Seoul : South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised the travel warning level for several border areas in Thailand and Cambodia following recent armed clashes between the two Southeast Asian nations. A special travel advisory was issued effective from Friday noon for Thailand’s Surin, Buriram, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, as well as Cambodia’s Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces. The advisory urges South Korean nationals to avoid travelling to or leaving these regions. Mogadishu : The Somali Ministry of Defence announced that the army repelled a dawn attack by terrorist elements in the southern region of the country, killing 18 militants. London : Fully electric vehicles accounted for more than 15% of all new car registrations in the European Union during the first half of 2025, according to data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). Between January and June, around 5.58 million new passenger cars were sold across the EU, marking a 1.9% decline compared to the same period last year. Moscow : An Antonov An-24 passenger plane carrying about 50 people crashed in Russia’s far east on Thursday and initial information suggested that everyone on board was killed, Russian emergency services officials said. The burning fuselage of the plane, which was from the Soviet era and was nearly 50 years old, was spotted on the ground by a helicopter and rescue crews were rushing to the scene. There were 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members on board, according to preliminary data.
