Uttarakhand : All seven people on a helicopter in northern India were killed early on Sunday when it crashed while ferrying passengers on a popular Hindu pilgrimage route in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, officials said. The helicopter was headed to Guptkashi from the shrine of Kedarnath, said the state’s director-general of information, Bansidhar Tripathi. Pune : At least two people died and a number were swept away after a bridge over the Indrayani river in the western Indian city of Pune collapsed, Maharashtra state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said. “Some people got swept away, so a search operation is underway on a war footing to find them,” he added on social media platform X, adding 6 people have been rescued while 32 were injured, including 6 in critical condition. He said the National Disaster Response Force is deployed on-site, and other agencies have been directed to remain on high alert.

Manama : The Ministry of Labour has announced the start of the implementation of the Ministerial Edict concerning the prohibition of outdoor work during midday. The ban will be enforced from June 15 to September 15, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Under the edict, it is prohibited to engage workers in direct sunlight or open areas during the designated period. New Delhi : The death toll from the crash of an Air India passenger aircraft has risen to 279, according to Indian authorities. India’s Minister of Home Affairs said that the final official death toll will be announced following the completion of DNA identification tests.
