Manama : The Interior Ministry’s show jumping team won first place in the Grand Prix of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Showjumping Championship. Dubai : The Kingdom of Bahrain delegation continued its strong showing at the Asian Youth Para Games in the United Arab Emirates from December 7-14, achieving a notable milestone by winning three medals in the first continental appearance for several of its athletes. Meshal Buqais won gold in the club throw in athletics, while Ibrahim Radwan claimed bronze in para taekwondo and Abdullah Khamis added another bronze in the javelin throw.

Washington : The US House of Representatives passed a massive defense policy bill authorising a record $901 billion in annual military spending, paving the way for the must-pass measure to become law for a 65th straight year. The National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, authorises Pentagon programs, but does not fund them.
