Manama : The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announces the launch of the second batch of its sector skills reports which includes the manufacturing and energy sectors as part of the “Skills Bahrain” initiative which aims to guide local skills development. Beijing, : China’s commerce ministry launched an anti-dumping probe on Sunday into POM copolymers, a type of engineering chemicals, imported from the EU, U.S., Japan and Taiwan. The chemicals can partially replace metals such as copper and zinc, and have various applications, including in auto parts, electronics and medical equipment, the ministry said in a statement. The investigation should be completed in a year but could be extended for six months, the ministry said.

Houston : Thousands of people in the Houston area faced sweltering heat without power on Saturday following severe storms that claimed at least seven lives, according to local media and the National Weather Service.
