Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today sent a cable denouncing the attempt to assassinate former US President and Republican Candidate, Donald Trump, during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. In the Cable, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad condemned all forms of political violence that conflict with democratic norms and values, and expressed his relief that former President Trump is safe.

Hanoi : Landslides triggered by torrential rains in mountainous northern Vietnam buried a 16-seater van, killing at least 11 people and leaving some missing on Saturday, state media reported. Tokyo : Three people went missing following a landslide that buried a residential building in western Japan. The landslide occurred in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. Washington : NASA’s Parker Solar Probe, tasked with closely observing the sun’s outer corona, has matched the record for the fastest human made object ever. On June 29, the probe was recorded travelling at 635,266 kilometres per hour (394,736 miles per hour), marking the second time it has reached this speed since its launch in 2018. This velocity is approximately 500 times the speed of sound, according to a study published in the scientific journal Science Alert. Kathmandu : 65 people are missing following landslides that swept away two passenger buses in Simultal, Chitwan district. Indradev Yadav, Chitwan District Chief, said that one bus was carrying 41 passengers and the other 24 when the landslides occurred. He noted that the Nepalese police are conducting rescue operations. Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Prime Minister of Nepal, expressed his sorrow over the incident and directed the relevant authorities to carry out search and rescue missions. Paris : French coastguards have recovered the bodies of four migrants who died overnight while attempting to reach Britain after their boat capsized in the English Channel. A spokesperson for the French coastguards said that a total of 67 people were on board the boat off the coast of Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France. Sixty-three individuals were rescued in an operation involving four ships and a helicopter.
