Manama Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, congratulated Sameer Abdulla Nass, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), on its 85th anniversary.  Al Musallam affirmed that BCCI is an essential partner in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He noted BCCI’s contributions and emphasised the Council’s commitment to support its role.

Manama : Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, inaugurated the Career Day Exhibition organised by University of Technology Bahrain (UTB). Dr. Hassan Ali Al Mulla, President of the UTB, was present. Tokyo : A high-speed jet ferry carrying more than 100 passengers lost control of its rudder in waters south of Tokyo and is being towed to a nearby island port, the Japan Coast Guard said Wednesday. The 280-ton jetfoil vessel operated by Tokai Kisen Co. reported at around 10 a.m. that it had “lost control of steering due to an oil leak.”  There have been no reports of injuries among the 116 passengers and five crew members. Manila : Typhoon Gaemi and a southwest monsoon brought heavy rain on Wednesday to the Philippine capital region and northern provinces, prompting authorities to halt work and classes, while stock and foreign exchange trading were suspended. Paris : The French Alps was named as the 2030 Winter Games host by the International Olympic Committee on Wednesday, though with conditions attached and signoff required. France previously hosted the Winter Games three times:  the inaugural 1924 edition in Chamonix, 1968 in Grenoble and 1992 in Albertville.

Manama : Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, visited a number of factories in Mina Salman Industrial Park. Fakhro visited Hempel Paints Company and BFG International Factory and was briefed on their current situation and production processes and services. Manama : The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) reaffirms its continuous commitment to enhancing the level of business compliance within the local markets and ensuring adherence to all regulations and legislation for the effective implementation of VAT and Excise including the Digital Stamps Scheme.
