New Delhi : Multiple landslides triggered by torrential rains in southern India have killed 70 people, and many others are feared trapped under the debris, officials said Tuesday, with rescue operations being hampered by bad weather. Beijing : Torrential rains have left at least seven people dead and three others missing in southeastern China, raising the death toll from the tropical storm to 22. All the deaths have been in Hunan province. Heavy rains have been falling on eastern Hunan for days as Tropical Storm Gaemi moved inland after making landfall at typhoon strength in neighboring Fujian province on the Chinese coast. Tunis : The Candidates for the Tunisian presidential election scheduled for October 6, 2024, will be able to submit their candidacy documents starting Monday, July 29. Caracas : Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his opposition rival Edmundo Gonzalez were each claiming victory in a presidential election on Monday morning, after a vote marked by accusations of underhand tactics and isolated incidents of violence. The country’s electoral authority said just after midnight on Monday that Maduro had won a third term with 51% of the vote. In comparison, the opposition candidate Gonzalez won 44% of the vote.
