Lahore : Floods brought by torrential rains in Pakistan caused damage that killed at least 30 people this week, authorities said on Friday, as the second-largest city of Lahore was drenched in the most rainfall it has received in more than four decades. Manama : The Ministry of Interior has announced that the police have taken legal action and arrested several individuals involved in recent unlawful riots. Some of those arrested had previously benefitted from the royal pardon, having been released after serving sentences for various criminal offences. The statement added: “Despite this opportunity, they have reoffended. Paris : The Bahrain national athletics team will start competing in the Paris Olympics tomorrow. The national team will begin its participation with athlete Nelly Jepkosgei, who will compete in the first round of the women’s 800-metre race at 8:45 am Bahrain time. Meanwhile, Birhanu Balew will compete in the final of the men’s 10,000-metre race, scheduled for 10:20 pm Bahrain time. Paris : Bahraini heritage and traditions were showcased at the Bahrain majlis at the Paris 2024 Olympics Sports Village. The majlis has received numerous visits from international sports delegations at the global sporting event. Manama : Gulf Air Group has reported robust first half-year statistics for Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), for 2024. Madrid Chelsea have completed the signing of Denmark under-21 goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from LaLiga side Villarreal, the Premier League club said on Tuesday. The 22-year-old, who last season became Villarreal’s number one keeper, has signed a seven-year deal, Chelsea said.
