Manama : The number of citizens employed between January and June 2024 has reached 12,555, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, has announced. This represents 63% of the annual of employing 20,000 Bahrainis, as outlined in the Economic Recovery Plan. Manama : The Ministry of Works announced that as part of the expansion joint maintenance works of Al Farooq Flyover on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Highway necessitates the closure of the slow lane for westbound traffic to Hamad Town and two lanes will be provided for the traffic movement. The closure will be effective from Thursday, August 8 at 11:00 PM to Sunday, August 11 at 05:00 AM. All road users are requested to observe and obey the traffic rules for the safety of all.
Manama : The Public Prosecution announced the arrest of an individual of Asian nationality involved in the illegal trade of undersized fish. The case has been referred to the Minor Criminal Court. The Public Prosecution received a report from The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) stating that the individual was apprehended as a street vendor in possession of six refrigerators containing various marine species, including groupers, which were below the legally permitted size. Upon receiving the report, the Public Prosecution initiated an investigation, ordered the arrest of the individual, questioned him, and directed his pretrial detention pending further investigation. Manama : National accounts estimates issued by the Information & eGovernment Authority showed that the real GDP of the Kingdom of Bahrain increased by 3.3% and 3.4% at constant and current prices, respectively, during the first quarter of 2024. The GDP reached 3610.8 million Bahraini Dinar at constant prices during the quarter compared to 3494.8 million Bahraini Dinar during the corresponding quarter of 2023.
