Manama : The Tender Board hosted a workshop for procurement bodies to introduce an initiative aimed at allocating a portion of government tenders to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).  The event brought together 180 participants from 45 government entities that are under the Government Tender Law. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary-General of the Tender Board, said that this initiative reflects the Board’s commitment to supporting SMEs by dedicating 20% of government tenders to them. Brasília : Brazilian emergency crews on Saturday recovered the remains of the 62 victims aboard an airliner that plunged to the ground in the town of Vinhedo, near São Paulo the day before, killing all on board. The bodies of most of the victims (34 males and 28 females) had already been moved to São Paulo’s police morgue for identification. Townsville : Bahraini champion, Musa Alkurich has arrived in Australia to participate in the World Triathlon Duathlon Championship, which will be held in the town of Townsville next week on August 16-18. The Bahraini delegation is headed by Hamad Al Mulla, the Secretary General of the Bahrain Triathlon Association. Manama : The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its sincere condolences to the Federative Republic of Brazil over the crash of a passenger plane in the city of São Paulo, which resulted in the deaths of all its passengers.
