Manama : His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), issued Edict (17) of 2024 regarding the renaming of Sanad and Jurdab Sports Club. According to the edict, following the approval of two-thirds of the general assembly members at the meeting held on July 27, the name of Sanad and Jurdab Sports Club shall be changed to “Sanad Sports Club”, wherever it appears in the club’s statute and registration documents.

Savannah : Authorities said at least seven people were killed Saturday when part of a ferry dock collapsed on Georgia’s Sapelo Island. Eight people were taken to hospitals, at least six of them with critical injuries, and crews from the U.S. Coast Guard, the McIntosh County Fire Department, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and others were searching the water, according to Natural Resources spokesperson Tyler Jones. Miami : Hurricane Oscar formed off the coast of the Bahamas and swept past the Turks and Caicos islands to the south. The National Hurricane Center in Miami characterized the storm as “tiny,” but hurricane warnings were in place for Turks and Caicos, the southeastern Bahamas and the north coast of Cuba in Holguin and Guantanamo provinces.
