Washington : A high-level delegation from the UAE, led by the General Secretariat of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illicit Organisations (GS-NAMLCFTC), conducted a four-day mission in the USA that concluded yesterday, convening with strategic partners in Washington DC, to advance cooperation and partnership between the two parties in combating financial crime and preserving international financial security. Amman : Wafa Bani Mustafa, Jordanian Minister of Social Development, announced that six residents died, while five others sustained severe injuries and 55 others suffered moderate injuries, due to a fire that broke out on the first floor of a private elderly care centre.The fire spread across the 80 square metre centre, which housed 111 residents. The remaining residents were evacuated to other centres, and the injured were taken to government hospitals for treatment.The minister confirmed the safety of all evacuated residents and noted that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Riyadh : The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced today that Saudi Arabia has won the bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034. The announcement was made during FIFA’s extraordinary general assembly meeting, held virtually.
