Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates, the Republic of India, and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka have signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in developing the Sri Lankan city of Trincomalee into a regional energy hub in South Asia. The agreement aims to enhance energy security in Sri Lanka. The MoU sets a framework for cooperation on infrastructure and energy projects in Trincomalee. Bangkok : The death toll from last week’s earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 3,354 as United Nations agencies and international donors intensified emergency relief efforts. The 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck a wide area, causing extensive damage across six regions. Power and telecommunications outages, along with damaged roads and bridges, have hampered the assessment of the full scale of the destruction.
