Manama: Yousef bin Abdulhussein Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour, announced the implementation of a ministerial decision prohibiting work during midday for workers exposed to direct sunlight in open areas. The ban will take effect from June 15 to September 15, extending the previous two month ban to three months. Washington : Electricity bills in the United States are expected to rise this summer due to increased natural gas prices and higher than average temperatures, according to the latest data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Government figures indicate that with temperatures forecast to exceed seasonal norms across much of the country, and natural gas prices up 37% compared to the same period last year, the average household electricity bill for June, July, and August is projected to increase by 4% compared to last summer. Washington : Two people were killed after falling trees caused by severe storms in the US states of Mississippi and Georgia. According to local authorities, the storms brought heavy rain, strong winds, and downed trees and power lines as they moved through the region. Manama : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirmed that flight GF213 from the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Kuwait on June 8, 2025 experienced a disturbance caused by one of the passengers, prompting the activation of precautionary and security measures in accordance with set procedures.
