Mogadishu : Thirty terrorists were killed in a military operation carried out by the Somali army in El dheer, Galgaduud region, central Somalia. Government forces also arrested a number of terrorists, including senior leaders involved in violations against civilians. The agency added that six soldiers were killed and 14 others injured during the clash.

Casablanca : Bahrain’s under-19 boys’ national team won the gold medal in the team event at the Arab Table Tennis Championship, held in Casablanca, Morocco. The team secured the title after defeating hosts Morocco 3–1 in the final, delivering a strong performance that earned them the gold medal. Beijing, : Chinese lawmakers have adopted a new law to regulate research, development and the peaceful use of atomic energy. The legislation was passed during a session of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The law consists of 62 articles and stipulates that China will fulfil its obligations under international treaties it has signed or joined. It also establishes a nuclear security system to strengthen safety in atomic energy research, development and use. Washington : Axel Van Trotsenburg, Managing Director at the World Bank, said the bank will allocate 70% of a $100 billion package, raised by one of its arms, to provide concessional financing for the world’s poorest countries, with Africa as the main beneficiary.
