The UNESCO World Heritage Committee voted Saturday to add Bahrain’s Dilmun Burial Mounds to its World Heritage List, praising the tombs for their “globally unique characteristics”.The burial grounds include “21 archaeological sites in the western part of the island” built between 2050 and 1750 BC, according to the global body.“Six of these sites are burial mound fields consisting of a few dozen to several thousand tumuli,” it said in a statement. Manama: The Labour and Social Development Ministry has allocated a toll-free hotline (32265727) to receive reports of any violations of Edict 3/2013 on banning outdoor work between 12:00 pm and 04:00 during the months of July and August. The Labour Minstry expressed thanks to the citizens and residents for their constant cooperation in this regard. Edict 3/2013 aims to safeguard workers’ health, ensure their safety against heat exhaustion and sunstroke as well as prevent summer-related diseases and to reduce occupational incidents in view of the increasing temperatures.
