UAE has announced 796 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total cases to 22,627 and there are 14,482 active cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP). MoHAP also reported 603 recoveries from COVID-19, taking the total recoveries in the country to 7,931. MoHAP noted 4 new COVID-19 related deaths, taking the death toll to 214. The new cases were detected after conducting more than 35,735 additional COVID-19 tests among UAE citizens and residents over the past few days. Bahrain has 92 new COVID-19 cases, of which 76 are among expatriate workers and 13 are contacts of active cases and 3 are travel-related, this takes the total cases in the kingdom to 6,747 and there are 3,973 active cases of which 3 are critical and the rest stable, according to the Ministry of Health. The World Health Organization (WHO) cautioned on Saturday that there is no proof that one can get infected with COVID-19 by touching surfaces where the virus sticks around, such as door handles and keyboards. India’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has developed an online dashboard to monitor and facilitate the movement of migrant workers and their contact-tracing during the lockdown. “The central government has already allowed the movement of migrant workers by buses and Shramik Special trains to enable them to travel to their native places.” said Mr. Ajay Bhalla, Home Secretary of India. Saudi Arabia saw a steep increase in the daily number of coronavirus cases with 2,840 new infections reported during the past 24 hours, raising the total to 52,016, according to the health ministry.
