Manama : In the presence and under the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Honourary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Championship was held. Organised by BREEF at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, the Championship featured wide participation, exhibiting international and local races as well as a contest for private stables.
His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was keen on following the stages of the private stables race and the 120-kilometer international race. His presence and guidance served as a powerful source of motivation for the riders, inspiring them to showcase their utmost capabilities and strive for excellence. As a beacon of wisdom and experience, his guidance illuminated their path, encouraging them to continuously improve and gain experience.
On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasised that the outstanding levels witnessed in the championship reflect the status of Bahraini endurance and its stages of development, reaching the highest levels, especially as the championships organised by BREEF serve as a gateway to excel in competitions abroad.
He also pointed out that the federation is reaping the rewards of its ambitious plan to create an ideal atmosphere for the riders, especially the youth who are steadily advancing towards the continued excellence and prosperity of Bahraini endurance. Moreover, His Highness commended the remarkable contributions of all participants in the championship.
Besides, His Highness extended his heartfelt congratulations to the triumphant winners of the private stables race, emphasising their remarkable abilities and affirming their significant strides towards advancing Bahraini endurance. He termed their achievements as a testament to the continuous progress and unwavering commitment of private stables, ensuring that Bahrain remains a prominent force in the realm of endurance sports.
Isa bin Abdullah Praises Nasser bin Hamad’s Support
On his part, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of BREEF, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his unwavering support. Recognising the immense impact of His Highness’ backing, he acknowledged its pivotal role in propelling the progress of Bahraini endurance to new heights.
Furthermore, His Highness expressed his admiration for the remarkable performance levels displayed in all races during the championship. “These exceptional displays serve as a great motivator to ensure the continuous provision of essential support and resources for the stables and riders,” His Highness pointed out, underscoring the significance of preserving the solid foundation of Bahraini endurance. Additionally, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the riders who secured top positions, acknowledging their outstanding accomplishments.
Honouring the Champions
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa crowned the winners of the private stables race in the 120-kilometer distance. The first place was won by Shaikha Najla bint Salman Al Khalifa from Al Safinat Stable. The second place was secured by Ahmed Khalid Al Thawadi of RM Stable, while the third place went to Hamad Ismail Al Balushi of Al Ajyal Stable.
Shaikha Najla won first place after clocking 4 hours, 31 minutes, and 54 seconds. Al Thawadi finished the race with a time of 4 hours, 39 minutes, and 9 seconds, and Al Balushi completed the race with a time of 4 hours, 42 minutes, and 18 seconds.
Al Za’eem Leads International Race
It’s worth noting that the international race was dominated by the team of Al Za’eem, with Shaikha Sheia Al Shaden bint Salman Al Khalifa taking the lead alongside her teammates Mayoof Al Rumaihi and Jaber Badr.
