His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, has affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), is a humanitarian leader and a model of giving.
Humanitarian work in the kingdom emanates from HM the King’s vision and interest in promoting charitable and humanitarian work in Bahrain and abroad, as well as in extending a helping hand to the needy all over the world, His Highness said.
HH Shaikh Nasser valued highly the royal constant directives to deliver assistance to brothers and friends in humanitarian circumstances, making the kingdom a pioneer in humanitarian work in the world, commending the unwavering keenness of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support humanitarian and charitable work.
His Highness made the statements marking the World Humanitarian Day, which is observed worldwide every August 19. The occasion provides a platform to honour humanitarians around the world who strive to save and protect people in need in disaster-stricken regions and on the front lines of conflict.
On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted HM the King’s care and interest in charitable and humanitarian work within the Kingdom, including sponsoring Bahraini orphans and widows, developing services provided to them, and delivering comprehensive social, educational and health care.
His Highness expressed the RHF’s pride in implementing HM the King’s directives to support those afflicted by conflicts, natural disasters and wars.
HH Shaikh Nasser paid tribute to the RHF’s executive management and staff for their distinguished role in carrying out humanitarian work in the kingdom and abroad, praising the generous contributions of the Bahraini people to the RHF’s humanitarian operations.
On the same occasion, RHF Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HM the King for HM’s fatherly care for the RHF’s affiliates and unlimited support for all its humanitarian activities.
He also praised the constant support of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the RHF, commending HH Shaikh Nasser’s leadership of the Foundation’s humanitarian work activities.
Dr. Al-Sayed indicated that the RHF has sponsored over 11,000 orphans and widows, by providing them with all kinds of support to ensure them decent life.
He also highlighted the RHF’s keenness to deliver urgent relief aid to stricken peoples and implement development projects in many countries, including Palestine, Pakistan, Jordan (for Syrian refugees), the Philippines, and Syria, among others.
