Manama : As part of government efforts to improve service quality and streamline procedures, the Ministry of Interior has developed its security arrangements service for events, allowing applications to be submitted electronically without the need to visit police directorates in person. The move aims to save time and effort and facilitate procedures for individuals and institutions using the service.
The improvements have reduced the service completion time from 20 working days to five, cut the required documents by 50%, and shortened the service-level agreement (SLA) period by at least 25%. They also include improving existing systems, converting application forms into electronic forms, and standardising service information published across all channels.
Major General Adel Abdullah Amin, Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources and Head of the Ministry of Interior’s Development and Procedures Unification Team, said the service’s development forms part of the ministry’s efforts to improve services and enhance procedural efficiency by simplifying processes and adopting digital solutions, thereby improving operational efficiency and service quality.
He noted that enabling electronic applications would improve the user experience, facilitate access to the service and reduce procedures and in-person visits, in line with efforts to advance digital transformation and enhance government performance.
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer public services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, with around 800 undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.
These efforts have drawn on suggestions and feedback submitted through the Tawasul National Suggestions and Complaints System, investor feedback and reports from mystery shoppers evaluating government services. Guidelines and service-level agreements have also been introduced to improve procedural efficiency, enhance service quality, improve the user experience and support the government’s digital transformation.
