Manama : The Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), chaired by Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, held its periodic meeting via videoconference, in the presence of board members and Nibras Mohammed Talib, Chief Executive Officer of LMRA.
The board reviewed its agenda and updates on the implementation of national and strategic plans aimed at developing the work environment and strengthening regulatory and oversight measures, particularly the Government Programme and the National Labour Market Plan.
It also reviewed plans to develop policies and procedures in line with economic developments and the needs of various sectors, supporting the competitiveness of the national economy and its attractiveness to investment.
The LMRA Chief Executive Officer presented a report on the authority’s activities during the first half of 2026. He said LMRA conducted more than 21,000 inspection visits to establishments and commercial markets, in addition to 625 joint inspection campaigns with relevant government entities.
Talib also highlighted ongoing efforts to reengineer procedures and integrate digital systems with government databases. He said electronic services accounted for 85% of all services provided during the first half of 2026, reflecting increased digital adoption among customers.
