Alaska : Eight people were killed after a charter aircraft crashed in Alaska, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration.
The crash occurred near Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site Airport, a military airstrip operated by the US Air Force in a remote area of the south-western part of the state.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a preliminary report that the aircraft crashed after taking off from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport while it was en route to Cape Newenham.
