Manila : The Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the commemorative event marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), held in Manila, Philippines. The Bahraini delegation was headed by Ahmed Abdullah Al Harmasi Al Hajri, Ambassador of Bahrain to Indonesia and ASEAN, with the participation of Abdullah Mohammed Al Karbabadi, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Bahrain in Manila.

Ambassador Al Hajri participated in a session titled “Strengthening Cooperation in Addressing Emerging Threats and Challenges,” highlighting Bahrain’s support for enhanced dialogue and cooperation in addressing cross-border challenges and leveraging the TAC as a framework for consultation and confidence-building.

He stressed the importance of regional and international cooperation in addressing interconnected challenges, including maritime trade security, cybersecurity, energy infrastructure, and global supply chains, based on international law and trusted partnerships. He also underscored the TAC’s role in strengthening strategic trust and practical cooperation to advance regional and international security and stability.
Bahrain’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening relations with ASEAN and supporting dialogue, cooperation, and the peaceful settlement of disputes in pursuit of regional and international security, stability, and prosperity.
