Manama : The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has developed the automated cheque collection service by establishing a direct electronic link between the Ministry’s internal accounting system and the approved bank system. This allows payers to go to any branch of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) in the Kingdom of Bahrain to deposit cheques without the need to visit the Ministry.
With the upgraded service, processing time has been reduced from five working days to just one day through full digital transformation. Documentation requirements have been reduced by 50%, and service steps have been streamlined to a maximum of four. The upgrade also includes improvements to the user interface and user experience, as well as simplified procedures to enhance service accessibility and efficiency.
The development also includes restructuring the service process for cheque deposits through the Ministry’s Judicial Enquiries service on its website moj.gov.bh via the Enforcement Files section. Users then select their payable amounts, after which a deposit document is generated for use at the BBK to complete the cheque deposit.
