Manama : His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), directed the General Sports Authority (GSA) to remove metal barriers separating spectators from the stands in stadiums and sports venues.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS and Chairman of the GSA, instructed relevant authorities to begin immediate implementation of the directive across sports facilities.
The directive reflects HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad’s keenness to enhance the fan experience and develop the sporting environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain, following the strong public engagement witnessed during the final of His Majesty the King’s Football Cup for the 2025/2026 season.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the initiative, noting the role of Bahraini supporters in enriching local competitions and contributing to the success of sporting events. The measure also aims to improve spectator comfort, encourage attendance, and foster closer interaction between players and fans.
The GSA confirmed the immediate implementation of the directive to ensure stadium readiness in line with development plans and to support the continued advancement of Bahrain’s sports sector.
