Kuwait : Kuwait Armed Forces intercepted and destroyed 12 drones and 14 missiles fired from Iran against the State of Kuwait since dawn on Friday, army spokesman Colonel Saud Al Atwan announced.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Kuwait, Colonel Al Atwan said the drones were intercepted in the north and central areas of the country, while the missiles were intercepted in southern areas. Two of the missiles fell outside what was described as the threat zone.
The statement noted that the attacks caused only material damage as a result of falling shrapnel.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces said explosions heard in different parts of the country were the result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.
The General Staff also urged the public to follow safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
Kuwait Armed Forces affirmed their readiness to deal decisively with any threat in a manner that protects the sovereignty, security, and stability of the State of Kuwait.
