Cairo : Al Azhar Al Sharif called for the immediate cessation of the ongoing war in the region, expressing its strong condemnation and denunciation of the violation of the sovereignty of Arab states, the aggression against their territories and resources, and the intimidation of their peoples.
In a statement, Al Azhar Al Sharif expressed its categorical rejection of these violations, which are inconsistent with religious and moral values and international charters. It underscored the urgent need for the international community to intervene to establish peace in the Middle East and prevent the expansion of conflicts, the costs of which are borne by civilians.
The statement called on all concerned parties to exercise wisdom and restraint and to return immediately to the path of dialogue and negotiations without delay, to spare the region the scourge of war and its catastrophic repercussions.
