Manama : Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) and Chairman of the Anti-Violence and Addiction Committee, chaired the committee’s meeting.
The meeting was attended by Ali Ameeni, Director of Crime Prevention, the Director of the “Maan” (Together) programme against violence and addiction, and committee members.
The NPRA Undersecretary commended members for their efforts in implementing the Maan programme and underscored the importance of structured institutional work to enhance preventive initiatives and support a safe educational and community environment.
The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the Maan programme during the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, including awareness curricula, lectures, workshops and interactive exhibitions conducted across educational institutions. Field results were also evaluated.
Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman emphasised the importance of further developing the Maan programme through an integrated institutional approach that combines strategic planning, quality management systems and the use of modern technologies to strengthen preventive impact and support national efforts to promote positive values and social stability.
The Director of Crime Prevention presented statistical results of the Civil Defence curriculum, noting that more than 55,000 students at different educational levels had benefited. Preparations for the Maan security awareness exhibition 2026 and the Maan cartoon initiative were also reviewed as part of efforts to broaden community outreach.
The committee further discussed the continued application of internationally recognised systems and practices, including the Information Security Management System in line with ISO 27001 standards, to enhance data protection, strengthen information security controls and ensure institutional compliance.
