Manama : As part of government efforts to improve service quality and re-engineer public services, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has launched the first unified remote customer service centre for municipal services to unify communication channels with beneficiaries, facilitate access to municipal services, improve the beneficiary experience, and enhance service delivery efficiency.
The new service introduces the first unified remote customer service centre for municipal services, enabling beneficiaries to report emergencies, enquire about licences, fees, records and addresses, track applications, submit complaints and feedback, and obtain technical support for building systems and other municipal systems through a single point of contact.
The service replaces the need to visit municipalities in person or contact each municipality separately according to the required service. It is available through multiple channels, including telephone, chat applications, video calls and email, helping simplify procedures, accelerate response times, improve service quality, and enhance the beneficiary experience.
Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, said the launch reflects the ministry’s commitment to adopting innovative digital solutions and developing the municipal services system to enhance operational efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
He said the unified customer service number (17989898) serves as a single point of contact for all municipalities, enabling beneficiaries to communicate by telephone, WhatsApp, video appointments through the Mawaeed application, and email, ensuring prompt responses to requests, reports and enquiries through qualified national personnel supported by advanced operating systems and technologies.
As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.
This is based on proposals and feedback received regarding government services through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret-shopper reports evaluating government services, as well as on the launch of guidance manuals and service-level agreements.
These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, strengthening beneficiary experience, and supporting the government’s digital transformation journey.
