Tunis : At least four people were killed as floods swept across Tunisia.
Tunisian authorities decided to suspend classes in schools in several governorates across the country amid the worst torrential rain in the capital, Tunis. The cloudbursts inundated streets, submerged vehicles and disrupted daily life in multiple governorates (provinces) of the North African country, with emergency services struggling to respond to the scale of the flooding.
The Tunisian Road Safety Observatory issued a warning to road users, urging them to exercise extreme caution, especially given the rising water levels in recent hours and the continued heavy rainfall.
Meteorological officials said the rainfall levels in some regions were the heaviest recorded since 1950.
